HIGH VACCUM SILICONE GREASE (H.V.G. 10) PRODUCTION INFORMATION HVG compound is stiff non-melting grease like Silicone material. It maintains its consistency over a wide temperature range of –400C to 2500C. Its low volatility, very low vapor pressure of the base, chemical resistance, relatively constant consistency over wide temperature range sealing ability, make it an ideal sealant for high vacuum and high pressure systems and sealant-cum-lubricant for chemical processing equipment. APPLICATIONS: - 1. As a sealant and lubricant for glass-ints and stopcocks in high vacuum and high temperature systems as well as in ordinary systems. 2.In pressure lubricated plug valves, control valves and ceramic plug cocks. 3.In Valves of water sofetner. 4.In fire extinguishers to keep the valves dependably operable for long period despite severe temperature conditions and corrosive atmosphere. 5.As a sealant on floating telephone batteries. 6.Its high tack may be taken advantage of, in holding rubber and other parts in position during assembly of certain parts. 7.As a release agent for eposy, polystylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyester resins and other plastics. Normally it is used only when common release agents including other silicone release agent fail, TYPICAL PROPERTIES: - APPEARANCE : TRANSLUCENT SPECIFIC GRAVITY : 1.0 PENETRATION WORKED 60 : 210 DIELECTRIC STRENGTH (volts/mil) : 9.0 kv/mm TEMPERATURE RANGE : -40 TO 2500C CHEMICAL RESISTANCE: - HVG has been found to be resistant to dilute aqueous acids, alkalis and other inorganic Salt solutions. It is unaffected by most vegetable and mineral oils. Many organic compounds and common gases. SOLUBILLITY: - HVG compound is not soluble in water, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, acetone glycol and glycerin. However, it can be dispersed in kerosene, benzene, toluene ethly ether, carbon tetrachloride, petroleum ethers, and methylene chloride or perchloro ethylene.
